Kathy Logie is a qualified gestalt psychotherapist and peer mentor, with a particular interest in providing eating disorder recovery support and positive body image work. She herself overcame a debilitating experience of anorexia and post traumatic stress disorder in her youth and has gone on to work within the mental health sector for more than a decade.
Kathy studied yoga and ayurveda, and incorporates a holistic view of wellbeing into her therapy. Throughout her career she has worked in several hospitals, eating disorder clinics, youth services, women's health centres and the Mental Health Commission. She regularly speaks at both national and international conferences on peer work for eating disorders, and is often invited to be part of expert advisory groups for The Butterfly Foundation, NEDC (National Eating Disorder Collaboration) and ANZAED (Australia New Zealand Academy of Eating Disorders).
She has noticed that body image dissatisfaction is extremely common, so she's developed a group program to improve self esteem and body image. She is also available for individual or couple's sessions. Her passion is to help people identify their unique strengths and support them to live their fullest life. She loves working with young people, people from ATSI heritage, and LGBTIQQ.
